My little baller

Some kids have blankets, some have stuffed animals, some suck their thumbs, but my baby LOVES his ball! This is all we do all day... Shoot, dribble, pass. It so cute watching him learn and develop his motor skills. And I may be biased, but he's really good!!! He almost never misses a basket and he's almost got the dribbling thing down!

Dawson's first bowling game.

We had a fun family night tonight at the bowling alley!! It was black light Friday and the music was blasting! Dawson was in complete awe of how awesome it was! He loved bowling, but busting moves all night was his favorite!! We had such a great time. I'm so thankful for my family. I'm not lucky, I'm soooo blessed!

18 months going on 18 years!

My Dawson is 18 months today! Oh my goodness! How did this happen!? I miss my baby! It's still has been so fun to watch him learn and grow. Of course, I think he's the smartest little boy in the whole world. He learns so fast it's amazing. So here's some things Dawson has been up to!
-He LOVES to sing and dance. We listen to pandora all day!! He's even got some rhythm (from mommy, not daddy lol).
-I'm afraid he is going to be the class clown- he is such a trickster and he gets the biggest kick out of himself when he does his little jokes on someone!
-He knows where his eyes, ears, hair, teeth, nose, belly, toes and fingers are.
-He is getting ready to maybe start the potty training process. he hides when he does his business and wants his diaper off immediately afterwards!! And thinks the potty is VERY interesting.
-he says: mommy, dada, dang it (Dane it), NO, go, snow, bye, please, thank you, grandpa (pompa), ball, car. He says jumbled up sentences that he thinks I should understand and it's the cutest thing EVER!
-He loves loves loves to play with basketballs, footballs, any ball!! He loves them!!
-If he could he would drink milk all day everyday. He loves him some milk!
-He's a climber! I have chairs on their sides and anything that can be climbed is blocked off!
-He has short patience and a quick temper. If he can't open a book within one second of trying its a melt down!!! If I move a toy or car from the place he has placed it.... Forget about it!! He will not have that!!
- And his eyes have finally turned brown! They were a grayish color forever and I didn't know what color I was going to tell him his eyes were, but they have finally completely turned! Yay!! Took long enough! His eyes are so big and beautiful with pretty long lashes..... Why do boys always get them!?
-one of my favorite things he does is hold my finger when he wants to take me somewhere. I love feeling that little hand holding my finger. I wish he would stay my little boy forever!

He is so busy and into everything that sometimes I feel like there is no way I will be able to handle it, then he will give me kisses or want to snuggle and I am the happiest mother in the world. He is such a joy in Tadd and I's lives and we are better people because of him. So thankful for this little man!!

"Motherhood is near to divinity.."

It's been awhile since I've posted but hey, at least I got something up today! Life is so busy I can't believe it and its not even holiday season yet! Yikes!
Things seem to take longer to clean, go anywhere, make, ect when there's a little 1 year old running around, dying for your attention. Sometimes I get discouraged because I feel I'm not able to "do it all" and be the super mom wife that I want to be- however, there have been so many signs brought to my attention lately that have taught me one of many valuable lessons in motherhood.
1- TIME- Time goes by before we can catch hold and my little Dawson just wants my time- he doesn't care if the toys are all picked up or the dishes are done, laundry, swept, mopped, dusted vacuumed. All he cares about and wants is mommy to play with those toys with him instead of constantly putting them away- he wants mommy to let him play with the broom and learn what it is, he wants to have tickle fights, and play hide and go seek. He wants mommys time. Soon he won't and I'll miss him hugging the back of my leg and handing me his car or throwing his ball at me. Before I know it my house will be clean always, and I'll be wishing I had little hand prints on my windows to look at. When life seems to be swirling by me, why am I trying to catch it? Why? When I want my little guy to stay little forever, why would I try to catch the fast lane of life? Well, I don't- and from this day forward I am going to wrestle with my boy, look at his little hands and sweet feet, play with him, make him laugh and adore his precious smile and contagious laughter, I want to teach him about all that I can. I'm going to give him all my love in my heart and... My time. He is my greatest blessing and when he's older I want him to, when he thinks of his time with me, smile because it was a wonderful TIME.
“Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels."

Dawson's First Birthday!

Dawsons first birthday started out with blueberry pancakes and one happy boy!

Then it was party time!!! We invited our wonderful families over for pizza and cupcakes!

And Dawson LOVED his cake but made sure to eat it carefully piece by piece! It was so cute.  He was just calm and watched everyone as he ate his football cake. His cousins wanted him to mash into it but he ate it with his little pincher's. He did manage to get himself nice and dirty though!
Then it was present time!!! He got so spoiled and loved all his gifts! He loved his mickey car from mom and dad and would throw a fit if you even touched it!

All in all I'd say it was a Perfect day for our little man.  He is now sound asleep after a day of fun and excitement. Its crazy to think that we are parents to a 1 year old now! The time definitely went by super fast! What a precious blessing to have Dawson in our family.  Our lives have been so blessed and enhanced because of this little spitfire and there is no doubt that he is soooooo loved!

Happy Birthday little man!!!

Family fun 4th of July!

Dawson's first 4th was a fun success! The weather was wonderful, the parade was so cute, the BBQ's were delicious, and the company was the best!! We started our day off heading to the parade (this was a big decision because it was during nap time- and that is an important thing!) daws thought it was interesting! He kept saying "wow" and "what's that" and pointing. It was cute! He did get pinged in the head with a candy but he got over it after a few min. The rest of the day was filled with family and BBQ's it was a good relaxing/draining day. Dawson was so exhausted we had to skip the fireworks for bed but that's ok- maybe next year!
